"Two buildings of 17 and 24 floors could be built in front of the Bonsist hall close to the University for National and World Economy," said yesterday Architect Boriana Shivacheva from the Civil Association Beli Brezi. She explained that the Detailed Spatial Development Plan (DSDP) of the district of Studentski Grad, adopted last month by the Sofia Municipal Council was a prerequisite for the realization of such works. Shivacheva explained that it was possible that a bulding of 20 floors be build in the Mir i Druzhba park in Studentski Grad. According to the Association, the plan is not clear enough and is not unequivocal. Shivacheva commented that it foresaw the outlining of campuses in the district of Studentski Grad, but the ownership in them was to remain private. That would allow private owners to build facilities within the campuses. According to Architect Vessela Toncheva, from Spasenie 2000 Civil Committee, the territory of Studentski Grad is constantly being blurred with the establishment of new campuses. She explained that while in the Master Spatial Development Plan there were areas assigned for local gardens, then in the DSDP these were converted in campuses with construction zones. Both organizations have already filed a complaint within the Sofia Administrative Court against the decision of 22 July of Sofia Municipal Council, which approved the DSDP of the territory. The associations urge the court to declare the Detailed Spatial Development Plan void or illegal.
