The new management of Sunny Beach AD (PLC) inherited liabilities of BGN 6 mln, reported for Klassa Dimitar Boychev, MP from GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria). According to the new management of the sea resort, the previous board management left the sum of BGN 8,300 only in the company's accounts.
According to the audit and inspection carried out so far, a real estate was unduly sold for BGN 3.5 mln. "The company also owes BGN 500,000 to a firm in charge of planting and gardening of the complex, said the Executive Director Maria Mihaleva," cited by BTA (Bulgarian Telegraph Agency). Sunny Beach AD has an outstanding tax act at the amount of BGN 1.4 mln. "The previous management had entered into several extremely unprofitable contracts," said the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Zlatko Dimitrov. One of them refers to advertising in an information website for BGN 1.5 mln. The other is for renting advertising space. The Emona parking was let out to a company for 3 years with a rent of BGN 12,000 per year. The penalty stipulated in the contract, however, is € 80,000. In addition, there is also a clause allowing a construction permit for building a parking lot. "Tow-trucks in Sunny Beach AD have also been working under unprofitable contracts," said Petrov. Expenditures on the account of the Sunny Beach AD were BGN 60,000 per season, and their revenues – BGN 40,000. No contract has signed for the third tow-truck, which had been working illegally at night.
MP Dimitar Boychev from GERB, a member of the Committee on Policy, Energy and Tourism to the National Assembly, stated that the inspections by the Public Financial Inspection Agency, the Prosecutior's Office and Economic Police would begin within days. According to the lawmaker, the former board had spent a total of BGN 200 mln acquired from the privatization of the minority shares.
