Qatar and Bulgaria will establish a joint venture which will develop projects in the field of energy, tourism, agriculture, infrastructure and personnel training, agreed the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani Dzhasem during the PM's visit to the Arab country. I expect several projects to be developed very quickly and the relevant feasibility studies to be made, added the PM. "We have prepared specific proposals for investments and we will finalise the negotiations step by step," said Borissov.
Probably, direct flights between Bulgaria and Qatar will be launched in the shortest possible time. The Qatar UAE Embassy in Sofia is expected to be opened by the end of the year. An agreement on avoiding double taxation between the two countries was also signed.
Bulgaria and Qatar signed a memorandum of cooperation in the energy field. The document was initialed by the Energy Minister Traicho Traikov and Qatari Minister for State and International Cooperation Dr Khaled Bin Mohammad Al Atiyah. The memorandum provides for partnership in the gas industry, renewable and nuclear energy, energy efficiency, security of supply and preparation for the implementation of infrastructure projects.
