The Portuguese Martifer Energy Systems SGPS company will invest in the construction of wind parks in Bulgaria, said yesterday for Klassa Francisco Catalão, Director of Corporate Finance Department in the company's branch, in charge of renewable energy sources (RESs) projects. In his words, currently Martifer is participating jointly with Bulgarian companies in the implementation of three construction projects for wind power plants. The work is at a very early stage and therefore the company refused to comment on specific parameters of its projects. When we decide to invest in a given country, we make long-term plans, explained company's representatives. The company has already built parks in Portugal, Germany, the United States and Brazil. At present, we are building a new RESs capacity in Romania. The company calculated that a total of €1 mln investment is necessary for the construction of a single 1 MW wind generator. Company's facilities can operate over the next 20 years. Martifer added that the annual maintenance costs of a propeller amount to around €25,000. The investment into wind parks will be refunded for a period of about 8 years.
The construction of the park itself takes around 5 years, explained Filipe Figueiredo – Business Developer at Martifer. Between 2 and 3 years are necessary for the purchase of the park land and for the issuance of building permits as well as joining up the network. A year is needed to find financing for the project and another one to build the park, explained Figueiredo.
