Latest travel situation in Bulgaria

The national roads are passable in winter conditions. The surfaces are predominantly wet and might be covered with snow, but they are being cleaned and gritted, Road Infrastructure Agency said.
It is snowing across the country. The road surface of Trakia highway is wet and covered with snow. The road between the cities of Burgas and Karnobat is closed in both directions. The road surface of Hemus highway is wet and covered with snow too. Visibility is restricted to between 50 and 200 meters in the districts of Sliven, Shumen, Varna, Razgrad and Pleven. The following mountain passes are closed: Troyan-Karnare, Tvarditsa-Elena, Etropole-Zlatitsa and Varbitsa.
All vehicles must have chains and trucks must be without trailers and semi-trailers in the passes of Rozhen, Pamporovo, Prevala and Pechinsko, districts of Smolyan, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Ardino, on Lyubimets-Izvorovo road, in the municipalities of Harmanli and Topolovgrad.
Trucks heavier than 10 tons are prohibited from traveling the Pass of Shipka by March 30.
Trucks with trailers and semi-trailers are banned from travelling in the district of Kardzhali, on the roads Velingrad – Sarnitsa, Belovo – Yundola, Kardzhali – Ardino, Montana – Vratsa, Topolovgrad – Harmanli and Kyustendil – Pernik.
