SAC: The waste dump in Suhodol is legal

A five-member team from the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) confirmed the legitimacy of the complex permit, issued by the Minister of Environment and Water, for the use of the non-hazardous waste dump Suhodol – second stage, the court announced. The magistrates rejected the complaint of the association Protection of the Population’s Health and Lives as groundless. The decision is final and not subject to further appeal. The organization commented that there was a contradiction between the court’s rulings since the association had already won a lawsuit by a five-member panel, according to which the operation of Suhodol was unjustifiable. Due to the lack of a comprehensive solution for waste management in Sofia, the European Commission is expected to initiate proceedings against Bulgaria.
