A new port terminal to be built in Burgas

The General Plan for Development of the Port of Burgas until 2015 provides for the phased construction of a new container terminal (Terminal 4). It will be located near the already operating on the territory of the port terminal - west, stated in an interview for BurgasNews, Dian Dimov, Executive Director of the Port of Burgas.

With an average growth of container trade worldwide by about 4% to 6%, (excluding 2009 and 2010 due to the crisis), there is a clearly visible trend of the rapid increase in container traffic in the main Black Sea ports.

The construction of a specialised container terminal by a concessionaire on the BOT principle (Build Operate Transfer) is one of the best options for implementating of a public-private partnership.
