Business projects in rural areas to be subsidised

Projects of eight companies, which have applied under measures Diversification into Non-agricultural Activities and Support for the Establishment of Microenterprises, will be subsidised with more than BGN 2.6 mln. This was decided at a meeting of the Expert Committee for ensuring transparency in the Agriculture Fund. The construction and furbishing of two guest houses in Lovech municipality will be subsidised. Money under this measure will also be invested in the construction of five photovoltaic plants - three in Blagoevgrad, one in Gabrovo and one in Haskovo. The power plants will have a capacity of up to 82 kWp.

The agreed subsidies under the programme exceed BGN 198 mln. The purchase of specialised construction equipment will be backed as well - nearly BGN 67 mln have been contracted under such projects since the launching of the programme.

Meanwhile, officials from the Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture announced that BGN 1.3 mln in financial grants had been paid for two projects targeting the development of the Fisheries sector.
