Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works to absorb overall € 7.24 bn under six priority axis until 2020

A total of € 7.24 bn must be absorbed during the programming period 2014-2020, stated yesterday Regional Minister Liliana Pavlova. She participated in a forum, organised by the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce. The grants will be actually allocated under 3 operational programmes. In fact, a total of € 4.33 bn will be provided for infrastructural projects under OP Transport. Grants worth € 2.65 are projected under the OP Regional Development, while funds of € 260 mln are envisaged for project implementation under Territorial Cooperation Programmes.
The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works will actually work on six priorities and will focus on the strategy 2020 in its part referring to road construction. It will also concentrate on OP Regional Development, the energy efficiency multifamily housing initiative, the improvement of several legal frameworks, as well as the reform of the water supply and sewerage sector and the preparation of projects for the 2014-2020 period.
In fact, a total of thirty nine state and municipal hospitals will be upgraded with new equipment under OP Regional Development. Besides, the programme will grant funds for the construction of 3 new dams, including "Neykovtsi", "Plovdivtsi" and "Luda Yana" with the adjacent sewage treatment plants, as well as for the implementation of repair works of Studena dam.
