Canadian company interested in Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport

A Canadian-based company is interested in the airport in Gorna Oryahovitsa and has already made an inquiry about the airport's characteristics, announced the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo, Daniel Panov.
The company's representatives are expected to arrive in late February. Daniel Panov, jointly with the Mayor of Gorna Oryahovitsa, Engineer Dobromir Dobrev, is drafting the airport's portfolio. According to the Mayor, they cannot rely solely on the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications since the Mayors of both towns must be engaged in the airport concession procedure.

The beginning of April was set as a deadline for granting a concession on the exploitation of the Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport. If no investor is found until that date, the deadline may be extended. According to GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) MP Miroslav Petkov, if the airport is not granted under concession, representatives from the municipal district will insist on the parameters to be reconsidered as these have been overstated.
Daniel Panov stated that GERB plans for other district municipalities to seek and attract investors.
