Four hospitals were not granted licenses to operate by the Ministry of Health (MH) and will close down, was announced yesterday.
The MH has issued licenses to 297 out of total of 312 hospitals that applied for re-registration. The documents of another 11 hospitals are still being filled in. Four small hospitals in the towns of Vidin, Sliven, Mursalevo and Kiten were refused to be issued licenses, announced Darik radio.
MH explained before Klassa that the reasons for refusals referred to the poor hygienic conditions, the non-compliance with EU medical standards or liquidation of the relevant hospitals. Pursuant to the re-registration and the provisions of the Medical Treatment Facilities Act, the Health Ministry elaborated a draft for the national health card. It will be officially presented today by the Minister of Health, Doctor Stefan Konstantinov.
The health card contains the maximum and minimum number of hospital beds in districts, which could be contracted by the NHIF (National Health Insurance Fund). The MH representatives announced also that by the end of February, a register is to be drawn up of all medical establishments for hospital care and their levels of competence, which will be posted on the website of the Health Ministry.
