Sofia's Chief Architect Petar Dikov: We are tearing down the illegal buildings in the Vitosha Mountain

Several illegal buildings continue to ruin the most beautiful spots in the Vitosha mountain despite the fact that there is an order issued by the Sofia municipality for their forced removal, announced for Klassa vigilant citizens from the Sofia district Pancharevo where the facilities are located.
The document explicitly states that the demolition of illegal buildings had to be carried out on July 29-30, 2010. The оwners have committed themselves to executing the order by the end of August but this has not been done yet. According to Pancharevo's citizens, the probable reason is that pressure is being exerted on Sofia's Chief Architect Petar Dikov.
"We allowed a delay at the request of the owners because they declared they would demolish the facilities themselves in order to avoid losing materials and causing damage. The deadline we set was August 31. The day before yesterday I returned from leave and was informed that the facilities have not been torn down," commented to Klassa Architect Petar Dikov. He stated that the Sofia municipality will take a decision on the issue as early as next week. "From now on, the order must be executed, we must observe the law and these buildings must be demolished. We will make inspections and resort to follow-up actions,'' said also Dikov.
