Yesterday, BSP (Bulgarian Socialist Party) began consultations in Parliament on the vote of no confidence the party is preparing against the Government of PM Boyko Borissov. Only MRF (the ethnic Turks’ Movement for Rights and Freedoms) took part in the talks and the Blue Coalition refused to participate. “GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) appreciates the decision of the Blue Coalition not to take part in the consultations. This shows that BSP has obvious enemies among the right-wing parties, whose policy is absolutely different from the policies of the left-wing parties,” read GERB’s position. According to the leadership of the ruling party and its MPs, the no confidence motion is aimed at creating a political crisis.
The only consultations held on the vote of no confidence were those between BSP and MRF. However, the representatives of the two formations failed to reach an agreement on the motives for passing the censure motion against GERB’s Cabinet.
“A sufficient amount of faults has been accumulated in many spheres of governance which provides serious reasons for the passing of a no confidence motion,” said BSP’s leader Sergey Stanishev.
According to MRF, the Government failed in many spheres over the last year and a half and it will be difficult to choose just one reason for the censure motion. Stanishev stated again his party’s position that the Government had failed in its financial and economic policy, in healthcare and in its anti-crisis measures.
